The Sphinx is back, intent on destroying the Thing! The Puppet Master is back, concerned about Ben and Aliciia! And bashful Benjy is caught in the middle!In this issue, Nova-archvillain the Sphinx seeks vengeance upon our blue-eyed hero. Longtime Fantastic Four villain with a personal grievance against the Thing, Puppet Master arrives first hwoever to rough Thing up a bit by controlling one of his sparring partners, D-Man. After Thing defeats D-Man, Sphinx assaults Thing with the intent of killing him. Puppet Master seemingly only wished to rough him up and does not with death upon him as his daughter Alicia Masters would be despondent over this, so he comes to Thing's defense; mind controlling Sphinx into removing his immortality-granting "Ka-stone" and crushing it. With the stone crushed, Sphinx ages centuries immediately; crumbling into dust.
