One, a merchant's assistant, needed a bodyguard to help him transport his master's money from one city to another in the middle of the winter; the second, a fishmonger, tells the story of a time when his business was threatened by yakuza in the spring; and the third, a would-be robber, spins a summer story about the first time he lay in wait for a potential victim.
