She, Adam and Pendragon fight undead warriors to free Chelsea. In the battle Pendragon uses "real" magic, which he has been learning to supplement his slight of hand. Chelsea is rescued and they discover Conrad Van Helsing, barely alive (despite the fact that they had buried his corpse in the last book!).
