Synopsis

MUSEUM MADNESS / WOLF CUBS In these tales that tie in to the upcoming Warner Bros. movie Wonder Woman 1984, when a failed burglary attempt causes a hostage situation at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, Diana Prince is forced to leave her teenage tour group behind so that Wonder Woman can save the day! But will Wonder Woman be able to bring 10 gunmen to justice and get back to her tour group in time? And in a second story, it’s the eighties, and greed is good—as long as you already have it all! Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor hunt down the reckless mastermind who makes the ultimate power move by stealing Diana’s golden lasso! This one-shot was offered as tie-in to the Wonder Woman 1984 movie. It was available first as a Walmart Edition, available only at Walmart, and was followed a few weeks later by a later Direct Market Edition available to comics retailers. Both editions have a base cover by Nicola Scott plus variants. These stories were originally intended to be published in a Wonder Woman 1984 Mass Market / Direct Market 100 page giant, but DC discontinued their Giant line in June 2020 and replaced them at Walmart with a series of sealed 4-packs of DC Comics. The second wave of DC 4-packs were available at Walmart in September 2020. The Walmart Edition of this comic was only available as part of one of these sealed DC 4-packs, specifically Pack #5 of the 4-packs that were released in September 2020. The 4-packs were originally announced to be available at Walmart on September 20 2020, but they were available as early as September 4 2020. Issue credits for the Walmart Edition credit the cover to Ivan Reis, Joe Prado, and Marcelo Maiolo, but the cover is signed by Nicola Scott and Annette Kwok. The Direct Market edition correctly credits the cover to Scott and Kwok. On the Walmart Edition, the cover lists the names of the creators on the left side and includes the creators for both stories in the issue. On the Direct Market Edition, the creator names are listed across the bottom of the cover and only include the creators for the lead story.
