Synopsis

FIRST CONTACT PART 4 Having allowed Kaizen Gamorra to re-open the portal to Earth 2, Power Girl is eager to cross over, despite the fact that everyone present can see that the other world is being destroyed by a dangerous force that could push through to this one at any moment. Kara's friend Huntress is less eager to take such a big risk. Kaizen Gamorra's reasons for opening the portal are much different from Kara's reasons for wanting him to, though, as he has heard the seductive promises of Darkseid, offering power. Ignoring him, Kara tries to push through the portal, but Helena gets in her way. At last, Kara decides it would be best to test what's on the other side of the portal by throwing Kaizen Gamorra through it.  Even though the portal remains open to them, Helena is suspicious of just how Kaizen Gamorra found the technology on this earth to open the way to another. Even so, because Kara is so set on passing through, she intends to stick by her. However, as they prepare to enter the portal, a massive fist passes through from the other side. Kaizen Gamorra emerges, significantly empowered, explaining that his master wants Kara because he loves her. Confused, Kara watches as the creature is followed by her real cousin - the Superman of Earth 2. He unleashes Parademons to distract the others, and they realize soon that there must be a connection between the corruption of that world's Superman and Darkseid.   Kara, though, is not so easily deterred. She is so strongly tempted that she approaches the portal, and Helena takes it upon herself to destroy it with an explosive. Angrily, Kara turns on her, explaining that there was no illusion about it. She had seen her real cousin on the other side of that portal, and Helena had destroyed their ticket home. As they sit sadly in the wreckage, Batman and Superman admit that they should take their leave, expressing their sympathies.   Meanwhile, on Earth 2, Superman punishes Kaizen for his failure.
