The Genegineer, Chief Magistrate Anderson and Wipeout try to understand the events that caused the lab explosion. They still can’t scan Madelyne’s mind, but they use a video tape of the psychic transcript from the now dead telepath among the examining team. They see Madelyne as she perceives herself : Madelyne as a child picks flowers and sings a song called “Gone to America“. The Genegineer appears, asking the child who it is. In the pupils of the young girl appears a phoenix image, the Magistrates shoot her, but Madeylne transforms into a creature of fire, she flattens the whole city.
