- 🏅 #1 on the Hot 10
- Standard-sized comic book appearances
- 1st appearance of Boba Fett, a bounty hunter
- 1st cameo appearance of Dengar, Bossk, IG-88 and Zuckuss - bounty hunters
- 1st cameo appearance of Emperor Palpatine aka Darth Sidious
- Reprinted from Marvel Comics Super Special Magazine adaptation of The Empire Strikes Back
- Without a doubt, #1 this week is Star Wars #42
- Now, it didn’t hit a new 9.8 high but it did come within $130 of the $2,500 all-time high
- This week’s $1,200 sale in 9.6 fell short of a meeting record by only $60
- But those recent record breakers from last week began to cascade down to lower grades which is a good sign of long-term sustained value with logical pricing in all grades
- THIS WEEK’S RECORD BREAKERS:
- CGC 9.4 sold for $900 [previous high: $535 in Dec] +68% increase
- CGC 9.4 Newsstand (UPC barcode) sold for $825 [previous high: $675] +22% increase
- Record breakers in 9.2, 9.0 and 8.0 resulting in an average increase of 22%
- Earlier there was a 9.6 Marvel Super Special Magazine that supposedly sold for $1,595 which is a crazy leap from the previous high of $325 but the data is no longer available so if you run across that sale, remember you heard it here first
