Synopsis

HARVEST OF DEATH Doctor Death delivers a presentation to the leaders of Tarakstan. His new biological weapon is capable of killing in seconds, and compressing its victims into pure oil. He gives a live demonstration to President Ruslam and tycoon Vilom Namali, using local villagers. The entire room applauds loudly.  Batgirl spends time alone with Black Wind, leader of the Sakuri Lion terrorists. Black Wind explains that he was taken away from his village at a young age so they could experiment on his powers in Moscow. When the Soviet Union fell, he returned to Tarakstan, and found his village wiped out by the government. Black Wind tells Batgirl that to men like Namali, oil is power. To the Sakuri, oil is considered like a dark secret that should stay underground. They have a tradition of digging holes and whispering their secrets into them when they feel like they cannot contain a dark secret anymore. To demonstrate this, Black Wind breathes "Jo vamo e" into the ground which means "I love you." Black Wind expresses his feelings for Batgirl, but Batgirl resists. Batman tells Black Wind to leave her alone, and threatens him. Batman devises a plan with the Sakuri to infiltrate Death's headquarters, under the condition that the Sakuri do not kill. Black Wind reluctantly agrees.   They launch a frontal assault, which forces Doctor Death to stop teaching himself how to play the banjo. Doctor Death releases his innocent test subjects so he can kill everybody at once. The doors open, and Batman is barely able to make it inside behind the soldiers. Doctor Death throws his poison into the crowd, but Black Wind manages to contain it. Black Wind uses his powers to burst into the compound, which helps Batman take down Doctor Death's private army. The poison is too much for Black Wind, and successfully containing it kills him. The country is safe and Doctor Death is defeated, but Black Wind rains down onto the crowd as oil.   Bruce Wayne and Cassandra Cain leave the country together. Namali tries to convince Bruce to stay, but Bruce insists that he would never work with scum like Namali in charge. Before leaving, Cassandra digs a small hole and whispers "Jo vamo e" into it. Bruce asks what she is doing, and she replies that it is a secret.
