Synopsis

SERET OF THE SLAYING STATUES A small time thug's corpse is found weighted down by golden Batman statues in Gotham's East River. Batman's investigation leads him to Erin Hill, Gotham's largest Irish settlement, which is in the midst of a carnival called St. Brigid's. The Dark Knight also meets a man named Liam McCourt and finds a booth selling golden Batman statues similar to the one found on the corpse's body earlier. A man promises to take Batman to the one responsible for making the statues, but instead leads the Caped Crusader into a trap. However, Batman overcomes the thugs and learns of a smuggling of a shipment of gold and before Batman can get more information from one of the thugs, he is murdered.  Later, Batman has the men aboard the smuggling ship arrested by the police, and then uses an identity as a drunken Irishman to "spook" a man receiving a package from McCourt. Following the man as the Dark Knight, Batman opens the package and discovers that it contains drugs; a discovery that confirms to the Caped Crusader who is behind the crimes. Following McCourt home, Batman discovers that the Irishman has a son named Paddy that he is ashamed of; one he keeps hidden in the basement of his home and one that secretly sculpts the golden Batman statues. Batman confronts McCourt and, with the help of Paddy, is able to defeat the crook. LONG LIVE THE KINGPIN! Batgirl is trying to find the murderer of Floyd Marcus, former crime kingpin, during the premiere of the film "The Stepfather" based on his life. Believing the killer is Floyd's son Mike, Batgirl has traveled to his estate to find that, Mike was not the killer at all.   Attacking some of the thugs who were at the shooting arrive, Batgirl realizes the person who she thought was Mike was an imposter because the fake glasses they were wearing didn't have lenses and as such didn't catch the light from the tommy gun burst during the murder.   She is however caught by the gun men who hold her at gun point, but she manages to break loose just as the police arrive. The commotion wakes up when real Mike Marcus who demands to know what's going on. Soon, Floyd's body guard "Blimp" attempts to shoot Marcus but is stopped by Batgirl. Batgirl then reveals that "Blimp" was behind the whole thing because his gun was loaded with blanks, which she learned in advance when she realized that the car used in the murder didn't have any bullet holes from "Blimps" counter shots.
