ElfQuest: Shards #4 takes place at the same time as this issue of Newblood. The tribe has split into two groups, one led by Cutter (SHARDS), and this group led by Ember and Leetah.In this issue, the Wolfriders journey through the outskirts of the forest and into the savannah region. They travel to finally find "HOWLING ROCK", the craggy grotto which would become their temporary Holt to dwell.The greatest issue of this episode is the overwhelming starvation of the tribe, which finally ends when the tribe kills several birds and small game. They have a feast.
